Shepherd Part Duex

Bubba was able to reprise his shepherd roll this week for his preschool Christmas program. He liked this costume much better (not itchy) as you can tell from his smiley (one-eyed) face. That's Ty on his right and Kaelynn on his left.

Go tell in on the mountain VIDEO :)

Snow Helpers

Bubba was psyched to head out. SBG was not to sure about all of the gear.

Who knew?

Being a shepherd could be so fun

Here's Bubba with his buddies Jake & Lydia in the Sunday School Christmas Program at Church (10 days ago - sorry for the belated blogging)
Sweet smiles

Now wait...I thought this was the four year old class. Somebody for got to tell SBG because when the called the 4 year olds up to sing she followed right along. My choice - to stop her and subsequently proceed to carry her out screaming and yelling or to just watch and smile. Here's what I picked.
For the 2nd song SBG decided to go up a few steps and get closer to Bubba. I know you're wondering why SBG appears to be having so much more fun than her brother. Well - there were some issues with the scratchy-ness of his attire.
The letter for the Sunday School director said that the kids could dress as shepherds or animals. Of course not wanting my child to be the only one not in a costume I called Aunt Katie for help. She used Junie as her model and created a great ensemble. Well.. we get there and there is one shepherd and one sheep and the rest of the kids are in cute Christmas outfits. That didn't bother Bubba but the itchy-ness was a bit annoying. Hence the somber distracted looks he gave my camera.

Jake's little sister Emma joined in the action tooTime for the closing prayer Hmmm...wonder what my sister is doing during the prayer?

Can't wait til next year when SBG gets to be an angel!

SBG's Birthday Brunch

SBG loved her party and really new it was for her. She was so excited to greet everyone and when people asked her about her birthday the 2 things she tells them is that she's 3 and that we had pink cake :) http://s288.photobucket.com/albums/ll184/klhark/?action=view&current=MVI_6962.flv

Opening a Dora wrapped gift in her new rocking chair from Nanny
Outfit #2 of the morning - ballerina with with new "spah-kley" shoes from A-mia
A little coaching from the big kids on the art of upwrapping
A stool just like Bubba's

Her favorite gifts - the princess dresses (thanks Aunt KT and fam) and the pink wand(thanks Bittermans)! So it's about 10 days out from the party and each day after I get her ready in the morning it takes less than 10 minutes for her to come down the hallway saying "princess please mommy". We do take them off for naps and eating (most of the time) :)

"Rina Party - I coming!"

My friend Patrica teaches at a ballet school and she gave me an invitation to their 1st Annual Nutcracker Tea Party. The little girls were invited to dress in their favorite ballerina attire. Fortunately the adults were fully clothed. I wasn't certain about taking my not quite 2 year old but my neighbor talked me in to it and I am so glad she did.
SBG sat like a big girl in her own seat with rapt attention for over 20 minutes. She kept reaching over and patting my hand. Then the narrator invited all of the little dancers to come and help with the next number. I asked SBG if she wanted to go dance with the ballerinas and she said "Yes" without hesitation. Sorry for the not great pics. It was dark, all of the kids were moving (duh-they were dancing) and my camera had trouble. SBG is the littlest in this pic. She loved doing the ribbons just like in the Olympics :) 2 minutes after she returned to her seat she said "Rina again mommy?"

After the performance they invited everyone on to the stage for pictures with their favorite dancers. Here she is with one of the Indian dancers. She was so serious, taking it all in. She didn't want to leave even when I told her about the treats in the tea party room. We were one of the last ones on the stage because she kept going from dancer to dancer.
This little dancer from Waltz of the Flowers was her favorite.
Me and my girl in the tea room. I'm just praising God for where she is this year compared to last year at this time! He is so good! What a blessing!

Bubba's Preschool Thanksgiving Party

Thad and I had a great time at Bubba's Preschool Thanksgiving Party. Here are Mrs. Y and the kids finishing up carpet time by praying for their food. Gotta love those 4 year old prayer poses. By the way - my 4 year old is in the yellow shirt :)

Here's Bubba's table - Bubba, Kaelynn, Ty's big bro, Ty, Carly
Proudly showing Dad his Potato Turkey
Hold this plate up to your face like a mask and see all of the blessings God has given us for which we can be thankful.

Spiffy placemat too :)

What we've been up to lately...

Hours of laundry fun - a great hand-me-down courtesy of Lydia & Fam

A mommy/son date to DisneyLive with Kelley & Ernie

We experienced our 3rd Annual "Santa Comes to the Local Mall." SBG was not to excited about getting near the man in the red suit but Bubba told him he wanted a remote control army helicopter. For weeks he's been saying he was going to ask Santa for BumbleBee (a Transformer guy) but he had a change of plan so now Mr. & Mrs. Claus are scrambling to fulfill the request :)

Papa got a bus :)

Guess who likes it the most?Check out this video - I'm not sure that's how the wheelchair lift is supposed to be used :) http://s288.photobucket.com/albums/ll184/klhark/?action=view&current=MVI_6890.flv
