Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Happy Birthday

We've spent the past few days a Grandpa and Grandma's celebrating Thanksgiving and then an evening of Christmas since our Colorado cousins will be staying in the moutains for Christmas. But before Christmas SBG got to open her first birthday present - actually her first present ever. She liked to rip the paper for about 30 seconds but as you'll see she was much more interested in what everyone else was doing.
This first video is Santa Bubba passing out the presents.
Video #2 is the whole family opening presents.
Here's Bubba "helping" her!
Checking out the goods :)

Mother Hen aka Cousin Keely

As long as her real mommy was nearby, SBG loved spending time with Cousin Keely who was so excited to have a "real" baby with which to play.

Can you see 'em?

Here they are folks on my deck at 9:53am - the snowflakes that we find so cute now but won't be very excited about after the millioneth one falls in January :)

Our Morning with Santa produced many SMILES

Faye aka the Karaoke Champion led the kids in "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". Bubba bopped a little to the music or was it anticipation as he saw the headlights of...
Santa's MINIVAN! That's right folks - no snow here yet for Santa's sleigh so Santa came to town courtesy of the local car dealership :)

Finally Bubba got what he came for - a hug from Santa!
Bubba and Lydia had ring side seats for the reading to Twas the Night Before Christmas

Then is was time to climb up on his lap and answer that all important question. What do you think he was thinking of with that finger on the chin pose?

A couple of crafts and treats later - we were ready to call it a day :)

Play Dates

Or should I entitle this post "Friends Making the Trek to Visit Us"? We've had a couple fun mornings with friends lately. SBG loved teaching Holly the ropes of Wiggles watching. Poor girl - her mommy has deprived her of the thrill just because they Wiggles drive Tara crazy! :) Guess I know what to get Holly for Christmas :)

She loved them so much she even stood up and did a little dance!
And today our buddy Aidan and his mommy Kristen joined us for some fun. Don't these boys look like they're having a ball? This was actually the end of the morning and they were vegging (or should I say engrossed) in "Thomas the Train".

My Baby Sister has Morning Sickness

I had to take this picture out of an earlier post because I almost spilled the beans but here is a picture of my baby sister taking a little break during our cookie baking adventure on Saturday. She was a real trooper even though the smell of the egg salad we had for lunch almost did her in. We're so excited about Baby Rosebud in late June 2008!

Shipping Out

Thad got a new job with a Biotech Pharmaceutical Company based in Palo Alto, CA. Sunday we took him to the airport to fly out for his training. We're so thankful for God's provision of a new job for Thad and we're praying that the 11 days he's away will go fast for all of us. Here's Bubba saying goodbye to Dad. And SBG playing in the back seat totally oblivious that DaDaDaDaDa is leaving.

Making Cookies

I don't know how many years our Cousin Karla has been patiently teaching us how to make Danish Christmas cookies. You'd think we'd have the hang of if by now. We had a great Saturday but the two missing Sorensen ladies were very missed - Miss Amelia Louise and her mommy. Here's Karoline spreading eggwhites on the freshly rolled Strip

And now demonstrating lovely Spritz making
